After several years of restrictions, this September brings a long-awaited opportunity: the Consorci Borsa d\u2019Allotjaments Tur\u00edstics<\/em> (CBAT) has launched the process for allocating 654 new tourist places for stays in holiday homes (ETV).<\/p>\n

This announcement is a significant event for owners, investors, and tourism professionals, as it marks the first major move in the granting of places after a prolonged moratorium. A sector paralyzed by the moratorium<\/h3>\n

In recent years, obtaining new tourist places for holiday rentals has been blocked. The cause goes back to Decree-Law 3\/2022, which established a four-year moratorium on the granting of licenses for tourist stays in homes.
The aim of this measure was to give institutions time to plan territorial development and calculate the islands\u2019 tourism carrying capacity, meaning determining how many visitors the territory can absorb without compromising its resources and sustainability.
During this suspension period, demand for new places did not disappear. On the contrary: many projects were put on hold, and owners\u2019 interest accumulated, creating strong pressure in the sector. That is why the reopening of the pool of places is seen as a necessary release valve and a highly valued opportunity.<\/p>\n
